What is Rotori?
Rotori is a mobile app built for planning trips to Japan. You pick the cities, we split the days, drop in the Shinkansen ticket suggestion automatically, and hand you discovery badges when you actually get there.
Is Rotori free?
Rotori has a free tier: one active plan, the core day-by-day route, hotel/ticket tracking, and guide content are all available as soon as you sign up. Rotori Pro — unlimited plans, AI route review, advanced price scanning and more — is sold as an auto-renewing yearly or monthly subscription through the App Store, priced at the store's localized rate. There are no ads and no purchases outside the app — the App Store subscription is the only paid path.
How do I create an account?
Open the app, tap "Create account". Continue with email + password or Sign in with Apple. If you use Apple, you can hide your email — we never see your real address.
How do I delete my account?
Instantly, from inside the app. Viewer → top-left ☰ → Delete account. The moment you confirm, all your plans, hotels, tickets, reminders and checklist are permanently erased. No email required. This action can't be undone.
Is my data safe?
Yes. Account data is stored with Supabase, your password is bcrypt-hashed, and the server-device link is TLS-encrypted. Your location never leaves the app — GPS badges are computed entirely on-device. See the privacy policy for details.
Does it work offline?
Largely yes. Your plan, day flow, hotel/ticket details, pre-departure checklist, and Japanese audio all work fully offline — they're already stored on your device. The map view needs a connection: maps aren't pre-downloaded, only the tiles you view in that session are briefly cached in memory. Your plan and guide content open fine on a weak connection; the map view needs some data.
How is the Japanese phrase button so natural?
Rotori ships 75 pre-generated Japanese phrases as MP3 files (OpenAI TTS "nova" voice, HD quality). We don't use your device's built-in TTS — the quality is much better. Works without internet.
Why did my Kyoto date change?
When you add a new city to your route, all days get automatically rebalanced. Cities where you haven't set dates manually may shift; the ones you set stay put. Same happens if you reorder cities.
Is Rotori on Android?
Not yet — iOS only. Android is on our roadmap, but we want to prove Rotori on iOS first.
